About

I started with photography a few years ago when digital cameras were simply inexistent. As everything in life, photography, and its technic have a learning curve. And though I believe we never reach the top of the mountain, because perfection is impossible, I also believe that we can climb a little every day. And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing all this time. I’m still learning, and I will always be, but now I also teach some of what I’ve been learning.

This blog is intended to support my Flickr gallery, because I just publish the photos there. On Flickr I don’t write anything about them, which is exactly the opposite of what I intend to do on Pedro’s Photo Cafe. I may also publish a tutorial now and then, or even talk about some equipment and technical aspects of it. I mean, things will come along intheir own time, but it’s not my main objective, and as always, everything depends on the feedback people give me.

Now, about the Cafe thing… The idea of making a blog in such terms came up because I don’t want it to be so photography centered. It would end up too monotonous, and thus wearisome. I want to give it some ambiance, which is the same as saying that I want to give it a comfortable and cozy frame. But I did not just came up randomly with the coffee idea. Coffee is in our lives for the best and for the worst. It is the companion of many of us, not just because of its awesome flavor but because it helps us to stay sharp and focused when we need to be. Many of us, who must work late at night, need it to keep up the pace. Millions drink it at breakfast to ensure a good day start.

I don’t exactly know if there is such a place, a physical place where you can drink a great coffee while discussing with friends about photos and photography, pretty much like a photo club. Such place would be great to comfortably join people who feel a common love for photography.

So this was the concept, and this blog is the virtual realization of this idea. Hope you guys like it and give feedback.
